Yes, agreed, i also doesn't like the list behavior for now. It is so much of trouble when replying email from a portable device. 
But, it is back to Moses decition at the end.

Hi Moses,

If I remember it correctly, all of us agreed that when pressing Ctrl +R to
reply, it will go to the group and not to the sender personally.

As of now, many people will be using Ctrl+r to reply not knowing that it
goes to the sender instead of going back to the group.  Not sure what will
others say.
